The Bromley Trust aims to promote prison reform within the UK, and has a particular emphasis on the rehabilitation of prisoners and the reduction of re-offending.

Our current focus areas:
1. Prison Education and Skills Training
Employment focused education and skills work
We will fund education and training work that focuses on employment, where there is evidence of clear links with employers and the realistic potential for prisoners to secure employment upon release.
Innovative and creative life skills work
We are interested in funding innovative work that contributes to the development of life skills to help reduce reoffending. We are particularly keen to support high quality arts interventions and new peer to peer approaches which enable prisoners to help others and contribute positively to society. Applicants should detail the evidence base for their work and demonstrate how they will ensure they make a meaningful difference in the lives of those they work with.
2. Prison Reform
Prisoners at Risk
We will support work that helps to alleviate the suffering of vulnerable groups in prison and bring about positive changes to the prison environment to ensure that their human rights are protected.
Policy & Campaigning
We will fund a small amount of work which seeks to bring about positive changes to the Prison System by informing or influencing policy, practice and legislation. Applicants should demonstrate that they have the expertise and ability to influence decision makers and bring about measurable change.
What we don’t fund
Due to our limited resources, we are not able to fund individuals, drug / alcohol rehabilitation or housing programmes, or prison work outside of the UK.
