Timescales

There are no application deadlines – applications are considered on a rolling basis as they are submitted. However please note that our assessment process is thorough – we meet with all shortlisted applicants and so it can take six to nine months for a successful grant to be awarded, although many applicants will hear the outcome sooner.

 Step 1

  • If you wish to apply then please complete the eligibility quiz on our ‘Apply for funding‘ page. If you answer the questions successfully you will gain access to our online application form, which you will need to complete and submit. We recommend you keep a record of your answers in a Word document as you go along just in case there are any technical glitches. Once submitted you should receive an automated email confirming safe receipt of the application.

Step 2

  • Within 8 weeks of receipt your application will undergo an initial assessment. If it is unsuccessful we will let you know, but unfortunately due to our limited resources we are unable to offer feedback to unsuccessful applicants at this stage.
  • If your application passes the initial assessment it will be considered by our trustees at their next meeting (usually in April or October). They will decide whether to shortlist it for an assessment visit and we will notify you shortly after. Unfortunately due to our limited resources we are unable to offer feedback to unsuccessful applicants at this stage.
  • If your application is shortlisted then we will arrange a convenient time to visit to discuss it with you. We may ask for further information to be sent in ahead of this. These meetings are usually carried out by the Trust’s Director, sometimes accompanied by the Grants Officer or a Trustee.

Step 3

  • This is the final stage of the assessment process, and means that your proposal will be considered by the Trustees at the next available grants meeting (usually in January or July).

  • We will let you know their decision shortly after the meeting. Please note that not all applications that reach this stage are eventually successful and sometimes difficult decisions have to be made. We will offer feedback if you are unsuccessful at this stage.

All decisions made by the Trustees are final and we are unable to accept any appeals.
