projects include a refugee women's resource room and

The Bail Circle works with and for detained asylum
seekers , their friends and families, to obtain immigration bail and/or signpost them to
good quality legal representation and other advice. Bail assistance is given
with the help of a network of ‘sureties’; volunteers willing to take
a modest financial risk to free such a detainee.

English PEN supports writers who have been imprisoned or whose human rights have been abused on account of their writing. By building relationships between English writers and their international colleagues, PEN lobbies effectively and sensitively to defend and extend the universal right to freedom of expression.

in Sudan. SOAT provides direct medical treatment

on a national and international level.

SURF works through survivor led partner organisations in Rwanda to help survivors
rebuild their lives after genocide. Partners holistically address the complex
needs of survivors through a variety of programmes including rights and advocacy,

a TimeBank project that recruits volunteers who are
UK citizens to act as mentors to refugees living locally.

Campaigns for the right of freedom of expression through
which all other rights and freedoms are secured. Maintains
a constant vigilance to ensure that freedom of expression
is continually promoted and perpetuated by compiling
factual information and publishing examples of banned
literature, first-hand view points and analyses of aspects
of censorship.
