Action for Prisoners families (APF)

APF is the national organisation representing the needs of prisoners’ families. APF advocates on their behalf, influences policy, publishes unique information and resources and helps to develop and improve services for this vulnerable group. APF also runs a Priosners’ Families Helpline in conjunction with Ormiston Trust.

African and Middle East Refugee Assistance (AMERA)

Provides legal, social and psychological treatment to traumatised and stateless refugees.  Increase awareness, trains lawyers/paralegals and advocates for improved refugee law/policy through education/research throughout the global ‘south’.

For the procurement of the abolition of torture, extra-judicial killing and the human rights violation known as 'disappearance'. To support research and Campaigning to establish and maintain human rights.

Anti-Slavery International

Exposes current cases of slavery, undertakes and publishes research, campaigns and presses for the effective implementation of international Laws. Current projects include exposing Bonded labour, Child labour, and the trafficking of people.

Ariadne - Human Rights European Funders Network
he aim of Ariadne is to create a network driven by donors that supports trusts, foundations and individual givers who are based in Europe or fund in Europe. This way it hopes to make the impact of human rights philanthropy in Europe add up to more than the sum of the parts.

Asylum Support Appeals Project (ASAP)

Provides legal representation (case workers) for destitute asylum seekers who have a genuine case to appeal NASS decisions. Set up on request from the judiciary.

The Centre for Applied Human Rights

The Centre for Applied Human Rights at York University is an interdisciplinary centre, committed to the practical application of human rights. They host overseas Human Rights Defenders at risk, in a unique environment which provides both respite and bespoke educational opportunities.

Council for Assisting Refugee Academics (CARA)

CARA provides practical assistance to academics forced to seek refuge abroad because of political, racial, religious or other persecution. CARA helps academics to rebuild shattered lives and careers through academic grants and advice concerning higher education, training, funding and employment.

Seeks to transform the lives of England’s eleven million children though the fullest implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. CRAE carry out public policy advocacy, undertake research and public education and support children’s self-advocacy.

Provides emotional and proactical support to asylum seekers and immigration detainees held at Tinsley House Immigration Detention Centre, Gatwick Airport many of whom have suffered abuses of their human rights.

Global Dialogue / Strategic Fund for Turkey

Global Partners & Associates (GPA) was established in 2005 to promote effective good governance and effective democratic practice in countries around the world. GPA work in countries across the world in partnership with state and non-state actors - including governments, international organisations, charitable foundations and businesses - providing expert advice to enhance effective democratic practice.

Impact takes action internationally to prevent and treat needless disability caused by disease, lack of knowledge or shortage of medical services. Disabled people tend to be among the most disadvantaged and

is the only organisation in England and Wales providing specialist support and advice to bereaved people facing inquests. It has a particular focus on deaths in custody.

LEWCAS (Lewisham Churches for Asylum Seekers)

Supports asylum seekers in SE London by campaigning, by providing clothes for them, a weekly food parcel for those destitute and also individual help.  LEWCAS run a free bus pass scheme for asylum seeking students who need it.

London Detainee Support Group (LDSG)

LDSG provides confidential, non-judgmental, non-religious emotional support and practical assistance to asylum seekers and other migrants detained in Harmondsworth and Colnbrook detention centres.  Volunteers visit individual detainees to support and empower them to access services and defend their rights.

National Working Group for Sexually Exploited Children and Young People

The NWG is a UK wide network organisation which supports practitioners working with children and young people at risk of, or experiencing sexual exploitation. In addition, they seek to influence the development of policy, research and practice around secual exploitation, underpinned by children and young people's participation.

Peace Brigades International UK Section (PBI)

PBI sends volunteer teams of international observers to conflict areas. With the support of the international community and following a non-violet and non-partisan approach PBI’s protective presence acts as a reminder of governments’ obligations to ensure human rights of marginalized people are respected.

Helps to rebuild the lives and livelihoods of torture survivors and their families. Works to eradicate the practice of torture worldwide and to obtain reparation for victims of torture and to make accountable all those who perpetrate, aid and abet acts of torture.

Reprieve

Reprieve is the foremost UK legal NGO working against human rights violations in Guantanamo bay.  Reprieve is currently conducting a systematic global investigation into the practice of “extraordinary renditions” and secret prisons across the world.

Works to expose asylum seeker destitution and unfair immigration decisions.  To mobilise local churches, Islamic organisations and other groups to provide help.  To befriend asylum seekers/refugees and to help them access services and to fund temporary accommodation/subsistence to destitute asylum seekers.

The Association of Members of Independent Monitoring Boards (AMIMB)

AMIMB supports members with advice on best practice, training and individual help in times of trouble. They raise public awareness about the treatment of prisoners and detainees. AMIMB produces A Practical Guide to Monitoring Prisons and The Independent Monitor.

The Forgiveness Project works with real-life human experience to promote conflict resolution and restorative practices as alternatives to the endless cycles or conflict, violence and crime. The Forgiveness Project is a non-partisan, non-religious organisation.

Together (Working for Wellbeing)

Together (Working for Wellbeing) is a national charity working for wellbeing. It supports people with mental health needs by running a range of services across the country; through campaigning and research; and by educating local communities about their own mental health needs.
The Together Forensic Mental Health Practitioner (FMHP) Service is a unique collaboration with London Probation providing a link between people in contact with the criminal justice system, who have a mental health need, and statutory or voluntary services.

WomanKind Worldwide

Works to create a society where women are not discriminated against on account of their gender and are equal partners determining the values, direction and governance of society at all levels. Supports partner agencies in developing countries in their struggle for essential human rights.
