Award. |
| You are a former award winner who has made superb use of your first award from the Trust and is now receiving your second. Already there is discussion as to the possibility of other prisons using the training facility you played a key role in setting up and even of introducing a commercial element which could earn funds for the prison. You took over a dark, dinghy former boiler room and have created a split level, brand new training centre which is splendidly laid out and has been labelled 'a model' by BICS visitors. The centre has in training some twenty prisoners at anyone time. Already several have achieved success in the industry on release. While our Trustee was on his visit he met a former senior executive from an industrial cleaning company and she said the Coldingley training centre was the best she had ever seen. The Head of Learning and Skills at your prison reckons that never has he seen a prisoner who has had such a positive impact on an institution. Congratulations. |
